AraPacis was formed in early 2003 with the goal of recreating some of the original aspects of the 70s era's hard rock and progressive music and allying it with a 00s prog, doom and gothic metal feel, to make an interesting hybrid. We have played shows such as the Hard Rock Cafe Montreal, and opening for Anvil and Raven, etc. The present line-up dates from Feb. 2008.
Our debut CD came out in April 2006 and we're presently recording our 2nd one and doing plenty of shows.
Influences: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Mountain, Jimi Hendrix, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Lacuna Coil, Leaves' Eyes, Rush, Evanescence, Candlemass, Dream Theater, Flyleaf, Janis Joplin, Otep, etc.

BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Montreal. I started singing at a very young age, recording demos and performing.
I also play the guitar, which I picked up recently, as well as vocal training.
I started off solo, writing my own music and lyrics, but realised the band was a better fit for me.
I enjoy all types of music, however rock and metal are my heart.

BIOGRAPHY
I learned a bit of classical piano when I was very young then started guitar in the summer of '69 :) I've been doing shows since the early 1970s in various Montreal and Toronto bands, performing in venues such as the Colisée de Québec and le Café Campus, jamming with and learning from luminaries like Frank and Vince Marino (I was in a short-lived band with Vince in the 70s) and playing with people such as François Bourassa (a schoolmate) in Montreal, and in Toronto with players such as Jeff Healey, Tony Springer, Lisa Price, Lori Yates, etc., in clubs like Derringer's and the Upper Lip in the 80s. I've also recently played guitar for Miranie Morissette.
I've recorded 3 solo albums: the 1st album, The Hunt, was a MIDI-based project with many various instrument sounds. The 2nd album, Children of the Night, and the 3rd, The Mime, feature more guitars and a harder sound, but keep the melodic approach of the 1st. I'm also writing lyrics for other musicians and bands.
I worked at music stores such as Steve's in Montreal, and I also had bit of a career as a published photographer with works in many magazines, newspapers and web sites; Ishows of bands such as the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, etc., and I also shot 2 albums for the band Anvil. I also teach French and English for CLIC, and Multimedia at McGill University in Montreal, where I graduated with a BA in History and Music Technology in 2000, and a Master's in Library and Information Studies in 2002. shot
And amongst other interesting things, I'm doing a bit of translation for Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan's personal Web site, Caramba!
